New Insights into Normalizer-Solubilizer Conjecture of Finite Simple Groups

The Normalizer-Solubilizer Conjecture has been a long-standing problem in group theory, seeking to understand the relationship between the normalizer of an element in a finite group and its solubilizer. Recently, researchers have made significant progress towards solving this conjecture, shedding light on the structure of finite simple groups.


One of the key findings is that certain simple groups, such as the baby monster group B and the Mathieu group M23, have unique properties when it comes to their normalizers and solubilizers. Specifically, these groups contain only one conjugacy class of maximal subgroups that are isomorphic to C47:C23 and C23:C11, respectively. This means that for any element x in these groups, the solubilizer SolG(x) must be either C47:C23 or C23:C11.


Other simple groups, such as PSL(2,q), where q is a Fermat prime number, have been found to have similar properties. In particular, it has been shown that for any element x in these groups, the solubilizer SolG(x) must be either D2q or Cq:C(q-1)/2.


The research also reveals that certain groups, such as PSL(d,pn), where p and d are odd primes, have a more complex structure when it comes to their normalizers and solubilizers. In these cases, the solubilizer SolG(x) can be either Cq:Cd or Cq: Cd, depending on the specific properties of the group.


These findings have significant implications for our understanding of finite simple groups and their internal structure. They also highlight the importance of considering the normalizer-solubilizer conjecture in the study of finite group theory.


The research has been published in a series of papers by researchers from the University of Tabriz, who used advanced mathematical techniques to analyze the properties of finite simple groups. The results have been hailed as a major breakthrough in the field, providing new insights into the structure of these groups and their internal dynamics.
