A new approach to object manipulation in images has been unveiled, allowing for a level of precision and realism previously unseen. The method, which combines the power of diffusion models with precise geometric control, enables users to edit objects in images with ease, adding motion and texture to create lifelike scenarios.
The key innovation here lies in the ability to seamlessly integrate static editing capabilities with dynamic generation. The framework consists of two main components: OMG3D and CustomRefiner. CustomRefiner, a texture refinement module, pre-trains a customized diffusion model that aligns the details and style of coarse renderings of 3D rough models with the original image.
Another crucial component is IllumiCombiner, which estimates and corrects background lighting to match human visual perception, resulting in more realistic shadow effects. This attention to detail is what sets this approach apart from others, allowing for a level of realism that was previously unattainable.
The results are striking, with generated objects appearing indistinguishable from real-world counterparts. The ability to seamlessly integrate static editing capabilities with dynamic generation means that users can create complex scenarios with ease, from simple object placement to intricate animations.
