A team of researchers has made a breakthrough in developing an artificial intelligence (AI) system that can read out loud to people with dyslexia, improving their reading abilities and overall understanding of written content. The system, known as Let AI Read First (LARF), uses machine learning algorithms to identify important information and highlight it for the reader.
The researchers designed LARF to tackle a common problem faced by individuals with dyslexia: difficulty in understanding complex texts due to poor reading comprehension. By annotating the text with relevant information, such as key phrases and sentences, LARF helps readers focus on the most critical parts of the content.
In a recent study, participants with dyslexia were given either LARF or a conventional text-reading system to read an article.
