Ceiling-Mounted Cameras Enable Indoor Navigation with High Accuracy and Flexibility

A team of researchers has developed a new method for indoor navigation using ceiling-mounted cameras, which could revolutionize the way robots and autonomous vehicles move around warehouses, factories, and other indoor spaces.


The system, called Ceiling-DSO (Direct Sparse Odometry), uses cameras mounted on the ceiling to track the movement of objects below.
