Scientists have been studying the properties of silicon for decades, but a recent experiment has revealed some surprising new information about this common element.
Silicon is one of the most abundant elements on Earth, making up about 28% of the planet’s crust. It’s also incredibly versatile, used in everything from computer chips to concrete.
