Tilburg Universitys Efforts Towards Inclusive Artificial Intelligence

Another project, SignON, focuses on developing sign language translation technology that can facilitate communication between deaf and hearing individuals. The goal is to create a system that is not only accurate but also culturally sensitive and respectful.


Researchers are also working on detecting biases in media portrayals of social groups, such as migrants or LGBTQ+ individuals. This involves using AI algorithms to analyze large datasets of images and text to identify patterns and stereotypes.


The Tilburg University team’s work has significant implications for the development of AI systems that can benefit society as a whole. By prioritizing diversity, inclusion, and fairness, these researchers are helping to create AI models that are more transparent, responsible, and effective.
