New Version of Ontology Lookup Service Boosts Biologists Ability to Understand Complex Biological Relationships

A new version of a crucial tool for biologists has been released, making it easier than ever before to find and understand the complex relationships between genes, proteins, and diseases.


The Ontology Lookup Service, or OLS, is a database that allows researchers to search for specific terms in biological ontologies – lists of words that describe different aspects of biology. These ontologies are used by scientists to annotate their data, making it easier to compare and share results with others.


The latest version of OLS, called OLS4, includes several major improvements over its predecessor.
