A sprawling galaxy stream has been discovered, stretching over 100 degrees across the sky in a feat of astronomical detective work.
The C-19 stream is thought to be a remnant of a globular cluster that was torn apart by the gravitational forces of our own Milky Way galaxy. By scouring the skies for faint, metal-poor stars, astronomers have pieced together the trail left behind by this ancient relic.
